"Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."
Special Olympics Oath.

The Under-8, Stars of the Future Program gives future Special Olympics athletes ages 4 through 7 the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of Special Olympics events.

At Summer Games in May, these youngsters go through about a dozen stations, receiving training in athletics (track & field) events. At the end of the day, the "Stars" take to the "big track" to show off what they have learned or to say "watch for us in the future!"

At Winter Games in January, the Stars of the Future athletes go through winter sports stations, receiving training in basketball, volleyball, and bowling events.

At the end of the day, the Stars of the Future receive achievement ribbons from the Law Enforcement Torch Run personnel.  To learn more about the Stars of the Future, Under 8 program, e-mail
